What is the ANLP?

The African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP) is a leadership development and networking seminar aimed at developing leadership capabilities of future leaders in the field of human nutrition in Africa.  Emphasis is placed on understanding the qualities and skills of leaders, team building, communication and transformational leadership in a broader context.  In addition we also focus on gaining a better understanding the role of personal leadership in science and practice on nutrition in the world around us.

The twelfth of a series of seminars of the ANLP 1st Announcement August 2013 will run in South Africa.


Who is the ANLP aimed at

The programme is designed for individuals who have experience in various fields of nutrition. Preference will be given to applicants with an advanced degree, postdoctoral fellows and candidates with comparable working experience in the broader human nutrition sciences, studying or working in Africa. We are also actively seeking applications from participants who are from francophone and lusophone countries.

 

Fellowships:


The ANLP organization tries to provide a number of partial course fee grants to participants. During the annual meetings of the UN- Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN) several UN-organizations and bilateral donors are informed about this programme. Therefore, potential candidates who are in the need of sponsorship are advised to approach these organizations as soon as possible to ensure their participation. Applicants from the following countries are required to apply online for a NFP fellowship (see Fellowship section for more information): Kenya, Benin, Mali, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Burundi,  DR Congo, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Egypt, South Africa, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Those interested in applying for a course grant from the ANLP organization could apply in early January by sending a complete grant application form after being accepted for the ANLP and after the call for such grants have been made to successful applicants. Preference for course fee grants will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate that they have searched for other sources of funding as well.

 

Deadline for ANLP applications - 01 September 2013 at 12h00 CAT

 The results of the selection panel will be made known on 14 September 2013.
